Bapu - Father

A small man against a big injustice to 350 million people.

He was the pioneer of Satyagraha—resistance to tyranny through mass civil disobedience, firmly founded upon ahimsa or total non-violence—which led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. He is commonly known around the world as Mahatma Gandhi (Sanskrit: महात्मा mahātmā or "Great Soul", an honorific first applied to him by Rabindranath Tagore) and in India also as Bapu (Gujarati: બાપુ bāpu or "Father"). He is officially honoured in India as the Father of the Nation; his birthday, 2 October, is commemorated there as Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday, and worldwide as the International Day of Non-Violence.

Vegetarianism:As a young child, Gandhi experimented with meat-eating. This was due partially to his inherent curiosity as well as his rather persuasive peer and friend Sheikh Mehtab. The idea of vegetarianism is deeply ingrained in Hindu and Jain traditions in India, and, in his native land of Gujarat, most Hindus were vegetarian and so are all Jains.

Brahmacharya: When Gandhi was 16 his father became very ill. Being very devoted to his parents, he attended to his father at all times during his illness. However, one night, Gandhi's uncle came to relieve Gandhi for a while. He retired to his bedroom where carnal desires overcame him and he made love to his wife. Shortly afterward a servant came to report that Gandhi's father had just died. Gandhi felt tremendous guilt and never could forgive himself. He came to refer to this event as "double shame." The incident had significant influence in Gandhi becoming celibate at the age of 36, while still married.

Faith: "Yes I am. I am also a Christian, a Muslim, a Buddhist and a Jew."
Simplicity: Gandhi earnestly believed that a person involved in social service should lead a simple life which he thought could lead to Brahmacharya.

In Solaris servers to have a correct time is so critical.
To change the time and date, the following examples can be used:

sets the current time to 12:34:56.

sets the date to January 1st, 12:30 am, 2000, which will be
displayed as

sets the date to Oct 8, 12:45 a.m.

Alcatel-Lucent CEO Steers Firm To A Lower Loss

It isn't often that a chief executive will be hailed when his company loses $52 million, but that's exactly what
happened when Alcatel (NYSE: ALU)-Lucent's new chief Ben Verwaayen announced a $52 million loss this week.

The combo U.S.-French company reported a loss of $51.8 million for its third quarter on a 6.6% drop in sales
of $5.15 billion and, because the loss was so much less than last year's $437 million, Verwaayen was praised
by investment banking analysts and Alcatel-Lucent stock jumped in early trading
